Music has always been at the centre of this home. Long before renovation plans took shape, the grand piano was already a defining part of the family’s daily life. It is where lessons are taught, where melodies fill the afternoons.

With a Scandinavian modern direction in mind, the couple envisioned a space that felt warm, intimate and practical for work, music and family life. Flexibility was essential because the home shifts between roles throughout the day. Smart lighting supports that rhythm, creating soft transitions between teaching sessions, playtime and quiet evenings. Originally completely open, the layout gave little sense of separation. Adding a wall defined the foyer while a circular opening allowed a soft, inviting view of the piano as one steps inside. Curves became a unifying language throughout the home. They continue from the foyer into the ceiling, subtly marking the transitions between dining, living and teaching zones. Viewed from different angles, these curves create a quiet visual movement that echoes the flow of music. Beyond aesthetics, the softened edges naturally make the home feel safer and more comforting for a young child. In the living and dining area, the family chose a projector instead of a TV to keep the space uncluttered and serene. Storage extends seamlessly from the piano to the window, with a dedicated recess that allows the piano to sit against the limewash walls. A dry pantry by the window keeps hosting easy. The master bedroom carries the same calm, cosy palette as the rest of the home. A walk-in wardrobe with glass display shelves showcases bags beautifully, while the layout allows one person to get ready without disturbing the other. A dedicated vanity adds convenience, and the round fluted wood bedhead, soft cove lighting, and limewash walls complete the serene, restful environment. From the piano that greets you at the entrance to the soft arcs that carry the eye across the ceiling, this home unfolds like a carefully composed piece of music.

“As busy working parents of a young toddler, we often did not have the time for frequent site visits once renovation commenced, and Ray would oversee the home project and provide us with timely updates via photos and videos on WhatsApp without prompting on our end.”
