For over a decade, this home has held many of the family’s milestones, from little footsteps to school projects and now two children entering their teens. As routines changed, the spaces that once served them perfectly began to feel slightly outgrown. Rather than leave the neighbourhood they love, the family chose to refresh their 5-room flat for this next chapter.

The family wanted a warm and natural palette with earthy tones, textured looking materials and practical storage that blends into the environment. With the children becoming more independent and the parents often working from home, the home was thoughtfully reconfigured to support both shared time and personal space.

The living room, where the family naturally gathers, was kept cosy and uncluttered. The TV console extends seamlessly into a tall cabinet, tucking away their belongings without adding visual weight. Microcement laminates paired with wood textures create the quiet, grounded atmosphere that defines Japandi interiors.

The kitchen was opened up to allow more natural light and create a smooth flow from one corner of the home to the next. Cooking is occasional rather than central to the family’s routine, so the layout focuses on practicality without feeling heavy.

The master bedroom underwent the most transformative changes. Relocating the entrance created additional wardrobe space, giving the couple more room to organise their daily life with ease. The bathroom door was also repositioned so the wet area now sits closer to the window, bringing in natural light and improving ventilation throughout the day. With the bed now closer to the window, mornings are greeted with soft daylight, replacing the previous placement that faced the bathroom door.

This home is a testament to living well. Every corner, from storage to circulation, has been refined to support a family in motion. It remains the place where memories are made, now with a lighter, more functional layout and a warmth that will carry the family into the years ahead.
