With the request of hosting large groups, the living room was planned for both comfort and versatility. One side of the bomb shelter was set as the TV wall, allowing space for a generous 2.7- to 3-metre sofa, perfect for gatherings and long gaming sessions. Disguised as a rattan-finished shoe cabinet with a hidden door, the other side of the bomb shelter quietly sets the bohemian tone of the home.
The kitchen, though not heavily used, carries its own charm. A mix of white upper cabinets and black lower cabinets, paired with gold handles, strikes a balance of elegance and contrast. To add texture and interest, a grey-toned terrazzo backsplash runs through both the kitchen and the dry pantry. The pantry itself was given a soft, curved design, a playful, Instagrammable nook accented with vintage glass lights and styled with home décor.
Beyond the shared spaces, one of the rooms was reimagined as a display and hobby area. Here, the couple can showcase their figurine collection and retreat into a cosy reading corner. The lattice-style sliding door allows flexibility, it can be fully opened to move larger items, or a floor mattress can be laid out when guests stay over.
In the bedroom, rattan makes another appearance in the wardrobe, tying the home’s theme together. A fluted feature wall frames the bed, creating a sense of warmth and texture. Together, these details create a bedroom that feels warm, intimate, and inviting, a true place to unwind.
With each space thoughtfully designed, the home becomes more than just a place to live. It’s a retreat where the couple can recharge, celebrate, and enjoy the rhythms of daily life.
