This resale condo was reimagined by a couple who desired a home that felt calm, spacious, and practical. Inspired by the Japandi aesthetic, the design blends Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian warmth to create a soothing retreat.
Soft shades of light brown, off-white, and greys set the foundation, helping the 861-square-foot apartment feel brighter and more expansive. Natural elements were preserved where possible like the original marble flooring in the living area and timber in the bedrooms now anchor the updated interiors with a sense of continuity.
Storage was a key priority, but instead of bulky cabinetry, the design hides it in plain sight. A TV feature wall finished in light wood laminate doubles as sleek storage, while a concealed doorway within it leads to the private quarters. Rounded carpentry edges and seamless finishes keep the look refined, with every line contributing to a sense of flow.
The dining zone extends the same spirit of practicality and warmth. A custom pantry and built-in dining bench come together as a compact yet generous hub, a place to gather, share meals, and even reach for a quick snack, with hidden compartments keeping the space uncluttered.
In the private quarters, tactile elements come into play. A textured cement wall anchors the master bedroom with quiet character, while integrated furniture ensures that even a modest footprint works hard. The vanity was shifted outward from the en-suite, a small yet thoughtful gesture that opens up the bathroom while adding convenience to everyday routines.
